APPLYING CHARACTER MAKEUP IN THE TEACHING OF FASHION DESIGN

Abstract

Hát bội, one of the oldest art forms in Vietnam’s cultural heritage, preserves many traditional values from music to theatrical arts, as well as the symbolic language of characters. Applying the symbolic language of character makeup in Hát bộito teaching fashion design helps cultivate love for national culture while contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values. This study focuses on analyzing and applying elements of character makeup from Hát bộiinto fashion design curricula at the university level, aligning with current educational reform trends.
