Entrepreneurial pressure: a multidimensional approach from a mental health perspective.
Abstract
This study examines the impact of internal and external pressures on entrepreneurs’ mental health from a psychological perspective. The study was conducted with 107 entrepreneurs in Hanoi, Vietnam, using a questionnaire survey and descriptive statistical analysis. The findings indicate that 86% of respondents experienced psychological and physical problems associated with prolonged pressure. Sources of pressure were not limited to work-related demands but also involved internal psychological difficulties, particularly unresolved emotional experiences, self-imposed pressure, the quality of close relationships, and limitations in emotional awareness and stress coping. Based on these findings, the study proposes several directions to enhance entrepreneurs’ capacity to cope with pressure in a sustainable manner.
