Handling alcohol concentration violations in traffi c in Vietnam: Shortcomings and legal reform recommendations

Abstract

Vietnamese law has issued various legal documents regulating alcohol concentration violations in traffi c; however, the current legal framework for managing, monitoring, and sanctioning such violations still presents signifi cant shortcomings in practical implementation. Driving under the infl uence of alcohol increases the risk of traffi c accidents, causing harm to the health and lives of drivers and related individuals, while also negatively aff ecting the transportation system and society as a whole. Based on this situation, the article analyzes and evaluates key inadequacies in the legal framework concerning alcohol concentration violations in traffi c. It then provides several recommendations aimed at improving and refi ning the relevant legal regulations.
