The unique cultural features of the Tra Co communal house festival

Abstract

Pertaining to the flow of traditional festivals along the coast of Northern Vietnam, Tra Co communal house festival illustrates the similarities with traditional Vietnamese festivals in general, but still contains plentiful unique features of the locality - a border area of Vietnam. This paper briefly introduces the origin of the Tra Co communal house festival and analyzes the unique cultural features of the festival through some typical offerings, rituals, and folk games of the communal house festival in Tra Co ward, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province, Vietnam.
