Community-based tourism in Binh Lieu district, Quang Ninh province: Current situation and development possibility

Abstract

Quang Ninh, which is a prominent destination on the Vietnam tourism map, has rich and diverse tourism resources. However, there are still potential destinations that have not been discovered for tourism development yet, such as Binh Lieu, the northern mountainous district of the province. This article focuses on researching the current situation of community-based tourism development, including tourism products, tourist routes, and thematic tourism products in Binh Lieu, thereby assessing the possibility of developing community-based tourism through the satisfaction of tourists when consuming tourism products at the destination and the ability to improve the livelihoods of local people. The study applied a qualitative approach, used in-depth interviews to collect data, and utilized methods such as descriptive statistics, analysis, and comparison. This study aims to synchronize the appearance of tourism resources in Quang Ninh province. Besides, the research finds solutions to promote community tourism development and improve the quality of local people’s lives.
