Abstract

During the early XIXth century, the upland areas of Tra Van, Tra Dinh, and O Liem were essential parts of the Binh Dinh Long Wall (Truong luy). They were also the foundation for establishing Nghia Dinh mountainous defensive unit by the Nguyen dynasty in 1876. This article concentrates on investigating the positions of those garrisons in the northwest of Binh Dinh, including Tra Van, Tra Dinh, and O Liem.
