Abstract
Compared to other provinces in Central Vietnam, the Buddhist revival movement in Nghe An and Ha Tinh took place relatively late. However, activities to revive Buddhism in these two provinces led to a rather important result, including the establishment of the Central Region’s Thien Sinh Association. The organization and its operation are similar to those of Youth Committees (Ban Đồng ấu), Duc Duc Youth Union of Buddhist Studies (Đoàn Thanh niên Phật học Đức dục), and today’s Buddhist Family in Hue and Vietnam. Up to now, the Hien Sinh Association is still largely unknown to researchers. Therefore, the article based on presenting the Buddhist revival movement in Nghe-Tinh will focus on analyzing and clarifying the background in which Hien Sinh Association was formed and operated.
