IMPROVING K12 STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY THROUGH DRILL TECHNIQUES AT HATINH SCHOOL FOR EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION, HA TINH UNIVERSITY

The study aims to know whether repetition and backward build-up drills improve students’ speaking ability of class 11A, Ha Tinh school of Excellence in Education, Ha Tinh University (HSE) or not. The research was conducted using the Classroom Action Research method involving 29 students as research participants from class 11A. The data collected used oral tasks and observation within two cycles of research. The mean score of students in the first cycle was not achieved due to some of the reasons. Students’ mean score in the second cycle was more prominent. This means that there is a significant improvement in students’ speaking ability. It can be concluded that drilling techniques could improve the students' speaking ability and arouse their participation.
