Orienting students’ ideology and behivior through teaching subject of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology to protect the Party’s ideological foundation

Abstract

Ho Chi Minh once affirmed: “A year begins in spring; life begins in youth; and youth is the spring of the nation”. In the process of safeguarding and building the country, as well as in the cause of building socialism in Vietnam, young people and students play a particularly vital role. Their fostering of moral character and personal development during their academic journey serve as a fundamental preparation not only for their future careers and lives, but also for their contributions to the cause of national construction and defence. This process requires appropriate orientation and education from lecturers through various subjects, notably the course on Ho Chi Minh’s Thought. Given the significance and objectives of this subject, lecturers at the Hanoi University of Business and Technology have attached great importance to guiding and orienting students to form a correct understanding of the necessity of the country’s revolutionary path, and of the values embedded in Ho Chi Minh’s Thought regarding national identity, great national unity, democracy, and, most importantly, the awareness of the need to nurture revolutionary moral qualities such as diligence, thrift, integrity, righteousness, impartiality, benevolence, justice, wisdom, and courage.
