2. Research on building WebGIS for surface water quality in Hanoi
Abstract
The article was researched by the authors to solve the problem of scattered, inaccessible, and unintuitive surface water monitoring data in the context of increasing pollution due to urbanization and industrialization. The goal is to build a WebGIS system to manage, display, and analyze data on a map, allowing users to look up information about monitoring points, view monitoring data for each, and receive feedback from people. The system is developed according to a three-layer model, applying HTML/CSS, JavaScript (Leaflet/OpenLayers), PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and PHP/Python. The result is an interactive, transparent online platform that supports management agencies in monitoring and making timely decisions, while raising public awareness. The system has the potential to expand to monitor other environmental fields and integrate IoT and AI in the future.
