Assessment of wastewater treatment system for seafood frozen factory of Viet An Joint Stock Company

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the wastewater treatment system at the aquatic frozen factory of Viet An Joint Stock Company, An Giang Province. Water flow, pH, TSS, BOD₅, COD, N-NH₄⁺, total N, total P, residual Chlorine, Oil and Grease and Coliforms of the system were investigated. Studied results found that average flow of the centralized wastewater treatment system was 305 m³/day, which was much lower than that of its designed capacity (800 m³/day). pH, TSS, BOD₅, COD, N-NH₄⁺, total N, total P, residual Chlorine, Oil and Grease and Coliforms in the effluence of the wastewater treatment system were 7,49; 30,25mg/l; 7,49mg/l; 13,75mg/l; 1,34mg/l; 2,4mg/l; 6,82mg/l; 0,95mg/l; 1,6mg/l and 150 MPN/100 ml, respectivly. The advantage of this treatment system is that the application of biological treatment was effectively treated BOD₅, COD in wastewater to meet the national standards (QCVN 11:2015/BTNMT, column A) before discharging into Hau River.
