Study on spectral image quality assessment method for high-resolution remote sensing images

Abstract

With the increasing volume and types of optical remote sensing satellite image data as well as higher quality image requirements of users, image quality assessment for product inspection and control is vital. This paper describes the method and tool to evaluate quality of high resolution optical remote sensing satellite data based on their data spectrum. The tool aims at automatic and time-efficient evaluation of remote sensing imagery. The results showed that using the tool for the verification of high and super high resolution satellite images demonstrates its good performance and correlation with subjective approach.
