14. Studying the current situation and proposing solutions towards a circular economy for textile and garment enterprises in Hanoi city

Abstract

By directly interviewing 15 textile and garment enterprises in Hanoi and representatives of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, the research shows that textile and garment enterprises in Hanoi have been paying attention to and implementing measures to manage waste arising from production and daily worker life activities, especially enterprises in groups I and II. Regarding the level of implementation of solutions related to the circular economy, the results show that large - scale enterprises (group I) have been applying modern technologies to reduce operating costs and maximize the use of natural resources. They also take measures such as installing solar power systems, using natural and recycled source materials and upgrading production equipment to reduce fuel consumption and energy use. However, practices related to the circular economy have not been popularized and invested in small and medium sized enterprises (group II and III). The study has proposed solutions to develop a circular economy model for the textile and garment industry, including communication, dissemination of knowledge about the circular economy, ensuring the balance of supply and demand and encouraging enterprises to invest. invest in environmentally friendly solutions, synchronized with factors surrounding output products, including production technology, consumption market and consumer behavior.
