KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE ANTIVIRAL DRUG ADHERENCE AMONG OUT-PATIENT WITH CHRONIC HEPATITIS B IN NAM DINH GENERAL HOSPITAL

Abstract

Objective: To describe the current status of knowledge about the antiviral drugs adherence among out-patients with chronic hepatitis B in Nam Dinh Generall hospital in 2019. Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted from January 2019 to June 2019 on 50 out-patients diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B in Nam Dinh General Hospital. Subjects were interviewed directly by the questionnaire designed with 22 questions including 34 correct answers. Results: Patients had incorrect answers of treatment efficacy of antiretroviral drugs (18%), treatment principles (36%), harms of non-compliance with antiretroviral drugs (22%), tests need to be done periodically (22%), side effects of antiviral drugs (64%), use the right dose (44%), use the medicine correctly (34%). Conclusion: The patient’s knowledge of this study about antiviral drug adherence was limited and this shows a re-minding patient education regarding antiviral drug adherence is necessary.
