ASSESSMENT OF EDUCATION ON POLITIC AND IDEOLOGY FOR STUDENTS IN NAM DINH UNIVERSITY OF NURSING DURING 2018-2020

Abstract

Objective: To assess the current political ideology of students andeducation on politic and ideology for students in Namdinh University of Nursing during 2018-2020. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 500 full-time nursing students within 3 bachelor courses 12, 13 and 14. Results: Among 500 participated students, 51.8% assessed their own political ideology as good and very good; the percentages of students who expressed strongly and very strongly believe in the leadership of the Party was 46.4% and 48.8%, respectively. When asked, 84.2% of students expressed their desire to be admitted to the Party. For ideological and political education activities of the University, the percentages of students who expressed being like and very like was 39.2% and 19.0%, respectively. The university’s education on politic and ideology for students was carried out regularly in variety of forms and participating forces. However, the percentage of students who answered that they were interested in learning the subjects of political theory was quite low (19.6%). Conclusion: In the period of 2018-2020, students of Nam Dinh University of Nursing basically demonstrated stable political ideology, believed in the Party’s leadership, and the university’s education on politic and ideology for students was well done. It needs to continue innovating teaching methods to increase students’ interest, especially in political theory subjects.
