Abstract

Objective: To investigate some factors related to the risk of depression, anxiety and stress in women who terminate pregnancy beyond 12 weeks.

Research Methods: A combination of qualitative and quantitative design was used to achieve the research objectives. Survey by questionnaire with 220 pregnant women and in-depth interviews with 22 pregnant women to find out factors related to the risk of depression, anxiety and stress.

Results: the older the age, the lower the risk; Women who are agricultural or self-employed have a lower risk than civil servants; Groups with high levels of education have a higher risk of disease. Family, socio-cultural, and reproductive history factors are all associated with the risk of depression, anxiety, and stress in pre-abortion women.

Conclusion: The process of deciding to terminate a pregnancy greatly affects a woman’s psyche. The help and sharing of family and society are effective treatments for this health problem
