NURSING CARE STATUS OF INTRA-ARTERIAL CATHETER ARTERIAl ININTENSIVE CARE UNIT 2 - VIET DUC FRIENDSHIP HOSPITAL 2021
Abstract
Objective: Describe the implementation of nursing and monitoring artery stent system at the Intensive Care Unit 2 of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. Describe complications and some relating factors during the artery stent storage.
Design: Cross-sectional description.
Results: 99 patients participated in the study with an average age of 57.8 ± 17.2 years, the youngest patient was 14 years old. The selected vessel site to place with highest rate is radial artery ( 65.7%), the lowest is the dorsal artery ( 1.01%). The average storage time is 5.5 days. Complications related to artery stent system include bleeding 10.01%, temporary needle occlusion 23.2%, wrong injection 1%, local infection 4.04%, hematoma 1.01%. Squeeze pressure and position of artery stent are related to artery stent occlusion.
Conclusion: The processes of nursing resolves the optimal efficiency for the artery system, minimizing the complications. Therefore, nurses must possess the technical process and monitor the artery stent system to ensure safety and save many patients’ lives
