THE REAL SITUATION OF JAPANESE TRAINING FOR VIETNAMESE NURSES AND MIDWIVES WORKING IN JAPAN

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the real situation of Japanese language training for Vietnamese nurses and midwives working in Japan. Subjects and research methods: Study on nurses and midwives from 2012 to 2019. Result: 99% of candidates who practice in syllabus『みんなの日本語. When revising, the majority of students use the textbook 漢字マスター (textbook for Japanese proficiency test preparation) accounting for 73.9%, the rest is Textbook みんなの日本語 (MinnanoNihongo), かんじマスター (Kanji Masuta-) . 82% of the survey candidates focused on practicing both reading and writing Kanji characters. Students’ self-study time ranges from 1-4 hours, accounting for 42.7% to 45.5%. Conclusion: Apart from problems related to subjects and skills, building a self-study plan is also one of the weaknesses of Vietnamese nursing and midwifery candidates. The Japanese level of Vietnamese teachers working at agencies that send interns and EPA projects is still low and uneven: 33.3% of teachers have N1 level, 66.7% have N2 level
