KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DISEASE AND TREATMENT FOR RISK PRESSURE OF HUMAN RESULTS WITH INCOMPLETE TREATMENT AT THE MILITARY OF TRADITIONAL MEDICINE IN 2021 AND RELATED FACTORS

Abstract

Objectives: To describe the status of knowledge and related factors about the disease and treatment regimen among hypertensive patients who were being treated as outpatients at the Military Institute of Traditional Medicine in 2021. Methods: The study was conducted according to the method of cross-sectional descriptive study with an analysis of 368 hypertensive patients on the list of management for examination and outpatient treatment at the Military Institute of Traditional Medicine. Data were collected by interviewing directly with patients at the Military Institute of Traditional Medicine with a set of self-completed questionnaires and collecting blood pressure measurements from medical records, measuring blood pressure directly at the time of the study. The study used descriptive statistics and analysis by Chi-squared test. The study period was from February 2021 to October 2021. Results: The study results showed that the percentage of patients with satisfactory knowledge about the disease and treatment regimen for hypertension was 67.1%. The analysis results showed that the factors were identified related to knowledge about the disease and disease treatment regimen, including adherence to complications of the disease, adherence to drug treatment and adherence to lifestyle changes. Conclusion:The general knowledge about the disease and the treatment regimen for hypertension of hypertensive patients reached the average level (67.1%). Most of the patients had knowledge about the drug regimen, diet, exercise regime. However, knowledge about the target blood pressure level to be achieved is still not high.
