Assessment on changes of knowledge and attitude about the prevention of fascioliasis in patients at Dang Van Ngu Hospital after health education
Abstract
Objective: Assessment on change of knowledge and attitude about the prevention of fascioliasis in patients at Dang Van Ngu hospital after health education. Subjects and research methods: Health education intervention study on a group with comparison before and after intervention on 96 patients from April to June 2023. Result: Before intervention, knowledge about the prevention of fascioliasis in patients was very low 11.5%. After the intervention, knowledge was significantly improved to 64,6% and continued to maintain 57,3% after 1 month of intervention with p < 0.05. Before intervention, the rate of positive attitude is very low 11,5%. After the intervention, the rate of positive attitude increased significantly 73% and continued to maintain 53% (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The knowledge and attitude of patients about the prevention of fascioliasis were limited at the time before the study but improved significantly after the intervention. Research results show the importance and necessity of regularly educating to community about the prevention of fascioliasis
