Setting up the flood simulation model for operating the reservoir system on the Vu Gia-Thu Bon River in flooding season

Abstract

     This paper presents an approach to establish the simulation model system for reservoir operation in flooding season in real time. Simulation model is based on the integrated model includes components: rainfall run-offf, numerical model of the river system and flooding regulation models for reservoirs system. The model established by the authors has the ability of forecasting incoming flood to the reservoir and joint point, simulate decisions about the operation reservoir's floodgates due to flood events on the system and assess flooding process in the control points at the downstream. Algorithms and calculation program by author have the preliminary results for the applying into the reservoirs system in Vu Gia-Thu Bon river.
