Investigation solutions on equal water distribution to improve water supply services in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

    Water supply system in Ho Chi Minh City has been built for a longtime with large water pipes and prolonged, difficulty in ensuring water supply and pressure on the system. The pressure in head system very high led to major water losses. By contrast, in the end of system, the pressure is too low. Currently, the water supply system in Ho Chi Minh City distributes to people with low levels of water service compared with Vietnam water supply standard and water supply also regularly interrupted.Customers often have to do a variety of ways such as building underground water storage, pumps and installation of distribution pipes or water storage tank in the home to ensure that the flow and pressure is stability. This situation led to a significant waste of economic for society. In addition, also with low water pressure on the water supply system causes a negative impacts on water quality as well as fire fighting work. This article illustrates solutions and water supply distribution models to stabilize water flow and water pressure that aims to improve water supply services sustainability in Ho Chi Minh City
