The resistant factor in TCVN 9386:2012

Abstract

   Resistant factor (structural factor) are using in structure design is a new concept for engineers nowaday. Before the (TCVN 9386:2012, 2012) is issued, engineers have to use some foreign standard or other reference materials to apply the seismic load on structure if required. The (TCVN 9386:2012, 2012) mentioned about the resistant factor (structural factor) and it is the skeleton factor of this standard. The esensce of the resistant factor is the load reduction factor, it consider the inelastic stage of the material without nonlinear analysis for the structure. To take this advantage, the structure have to contain the minimum requirement of ductility.
