Abstract

Ma River is a large river system in the North Central region of Vietnam and has great potential for land, water resources, hydropower, forests and marine products. The decrease of low stream flow is one of the hot issues of the basin in recent years, especially under the impact of climate change. This manuscriptdevelopone dimensional model using the Mike 11 modelto simulate low stream flow of Ma riverfrom 1980 to 2015. The results of average flow in dry season, 3 months dry season and the driest month in Cam Thuy, Ly Nhan, Set Thon on downstream of Ma river show that the trend of decrease of low flow in downstream of Ma river has occured form 2010 to 2015. In the period from 2000 to 2009, there was the highest low flow in the calculation period. From 1990 to 2000, Ma river basin has the lowest flow. From 1980 to 1989, the lowest flow was the average valueof the entire simulation period.
