Development of a model to simulate hydrology, water balance and regulation of reservoir operation in the Ba river basin

Abstract

    In this paper, a new simulation model was introduced for the calculation of water balance, watermanagement and operation of reservoir system in Ba river basin (named Ba-Model). This model isdeveloped based on the theory of the NAM model and the idea of the HEC-RESSIM. With Ba -Model, users easily intervene to calculate the water balance to suit the actual situation in Ba riverbasin. Validation and calibration of simulation models were conducted and show that it is reliableenough to apply to forecasting and operation problems in Ba river basin. This model is also appliedto other basins with similar conditions.
