Abstract

Fuel additive is used to improve fuel properties and/or improve combustion process in internalcombustion engine. This paper presents testing results of a nanoelmulsion fuel additive in B5 biodieselfuel on a Huyndai D4BB diesel engineto reduce emissions and fuel economy. Nanoelmulsion fueladditive is added to B5 fuels the engine with 1/6000, 1/7000, 1/8000, 1/9000, 1/10000 ratio. Theexperimental results show that the 1/8000 ratio is reasonable. With this ratio, on average engine powerincreases by 0,28% and specific fuel consumption reduces by 1,6% at full load modes, the CO, HCemissions, smoke reduced by 5,8%, 6,8%,3,6%, respectively, and NOx emissions increased2,8%compared to B5 fuel.
