Assessment of salinity distribution on Hau river for early warning in lower Mekong delta

Abstract
The evolution of salinity in the dry season based on the normalized salinity index (SSI) serves as the basis for building a correlation representing the "threshold lines" of the salinity intrusion from normal, moderate, severe and extremely intrusion. The threshold value of 4g/l was determined for assessing saline intrusion, and the results also reveal that saline distribution is the natural nature of coastal areas and coastal estuaries, so it is necessary to have more studies on intrusion meachism for water resources exploiting and management interms of subtainability
