Uniting new responsibility regimes of MTO in multi-modal transport

Abstract

     The article has systematized the fundamental contents of the multimodal transport, the transport multimodal operator (MTO) and the MTO's liability regimes. This paper has analysed the advantages and disadvantages and irrationalities of the MTO's liability regimes. Since then, it proposes the direction of a uniform liability regime of MTO in multimodal transportation, in accordance with international practices to protect the legal rights and interests both of MTO and shippers.
