Developing cultural communication capability by crew members

Abstract

       Cross-cultural communication competence in maritime domain is being increasingly recognized. Seafarers should be provided knowledge of culture and communication to cope with the diversity of the employment, management and particularly behavior of multinational colleagues. Thus, this paper brings up and explains some approaches of developing cross-culture communication competence of seafarers to help them live and work safely and effectively on board their ship.
