Some solutions for rationalizing investments of the dry cargo shipping fleet of Vietnam in the context of the international integration of the maritime transport
Abstract
The general cargo shipping fleet of our country has been developing quickly during some recent decades, however, in the conditions of the rapid development of the advanced transport modal that is "door to door" modal with the use of container transport means, the general cargo ships become backward. It is difficult to arrange trips for those ships on the international maritime market. In this article, the author analyses the status of the general cargo fleet of Vietnam and analyses the development trend of the same type of ship on the world as well as in the ASEAN region. Basing on the analysis, the author proposes some solutions for rationalizing the investment and the exploitation of the general cargo shipping fleet of Vietnam.
