THE DUY TAN MOVEMENT IN THE 20TH CENTURY, ITS CHARACTERISTICS AND THE LESSONS TO THE CURRENT EDUCATION IN VIETNAM

Abstract

This paper covers two main areas of content:

1.An analysis of the characteristics of the early 19^th Century Duy Tan Movement in Viet Nam focusing on patriotism, the sensitivity and dynamism of the Viet people and their ability to integrate into the modernist trend, in tune with the awakening of Asia in the early 20^th Century.

2.The analysis of the lessons and experiences drawn from the outstanding enlightened and reform activities of the Duy Tan Movement with reference to the current education reform in Viet Nam.
