Floating markets in the Mekong Delta at present day

Abstract

This paper is a monographical study about the activities of floating markets in the Mekong Delta. Whereby, we would like to present some activities of floating market sytem in terms of nets of merchandise, ways of consuming as well as factors effecting the current floating market development in the Mekong delta. The paper is written basing on data resources of the Mekong Delta floating markets’ trading activities surveyed by us in December 2012 and in January 2013 and funded by NAFOSTED for the work on “living-earning activities of floating-market Vietnamese merchants in the Mekong Delta: tradition and change”.
