Abstract

The purpose of this studyis to integrate the cleaner production methodology, resources efficiency and available natural ecosystem in order to develop integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) model for draft nata decoco production. This model has been implemented for a case study at a household scale in nata decoco craft village in Bentre. Results showed that pollutants such as N, P and SO4 2- in wastewater have reduced by a quantity of 90% giving contribution in reduction of raw material cost for production, andinvestment and operation costs for wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). This model could be considered as a best available technique (BAT) for nata de coco production in term of reduced impact mitigation on surface water, and contributes to adapt to national technical regulation on industrial wastewater in the craft villages.
