In - vitro culture of Nhat Tan peach (Prunus persica L.) has been carried out for the first time in Vietnam. The experiments were conducted in order to study explant sterilization methods, shoot proliferation and intact plant regeneration media. The results showed that the explants sterilized with 70% alcohol for 5 min. followed by 5 minutes in HgCl2 (0.1%) and then cultured on liquid MS medium supplemented with 1,000 mg cefotaxime per litter yielded highest survival and clean explants (65.0%) 14 days after culture. In propagation stage, an addition of 0.5 mg/l TDZ (thidiaruzone) and 0.1 mg/l α - NAA to MS medium had positive effect on shoot formation. The optimal medium for rooting of shoots was MS medium with 3 mg/l IBA, the rate of rooting was 100% after 3 weeks. These initial results could be regarded as the foundation for in- vitro preservation of Nhat Tan peach
