Green Growth: International Experience and Policy Implications for Vietnam

Abstract

In recent years, the promotion of green growth and the transition to a green economy is becoming a growing trend in many countries around the world, especially in developed countries. Vietnam is also in the early stages of implementing the Green Growth Strategy. European countries in general, the Federal Republic of Germany and Switzerland are the leaders in this trend with a very early and ambitious policy framework for promoting green growth. So far, Germany and Switzerland are two developed economies, which have basically transformed into green growth. This article presents some of the theoretical issues related to green growth, the experience of Germany and Switzerland in green growth and the implication of policy implications for Vietnam.
