IMPACT OF LAND CLUTTER ON DECTION QUALITY OF PASSIVE RADAR SYSTEM USING DVB-T2 SIGNAL

Abstract

This paper evaluates the detection performance of a passive radar system using Vietnamese DVB-T2 signal in land clutter, simulates several types of clutter reflected from different terrains such as rural areas, forests, mountains, grasslands... with different depression angles. We use the Monter-Carlo simulation method to describe the detection perfromance of the passive radar system using DVB-T2 signals. The results show that with different terrain types and different depression angles, the detection performance of the system is markedly different, in which the detection performance of the system varies greatly according to the layer types of low-releft terrain; Urban and mountain terrain requires higher SNR than other terrain types to achieve equal detection performance.
