Abstract

The load flow calculation is one of the most important and commonly applied problems in the power system. To date, the iterative methods used to solve this problem have been incorporated into all power system software, most commonly Gauss-Seidel and Newton-Raphson. There are many research works to optimize these iterative methods in two objectives: accuracy and convergence speed. Gauss-Seidel has a weakness of slow convergence, so there have been many studies to improve this, typically optimizing the acceleration factor in the algorithm. However, the value of the acceleration factor is usually recommended in a range. Therefore, this article aims to give a fix value of the acceleration factor for each distribution grid before performing the power flow.
