APPLICATION OF MOLDFLOW SIMULATION IN PLASTIC INJECTION MOLDING PROCESSES

Abstract

This paper presents an application of Moldflow software in simulating the flow of plastic in injection
molding process. ABS XR-409 plastic is used for the products of lego jigsaw, the simulation results
are intuitively shown with 3D images of the product or in the form of graphs that provides useful
information about injection molding process. From that, we can analyze and optimize in design as
well as machining process. These will be important bases for the design, manufacture of molds and
plastic injection molding in reality.
