<p><em><strong>Background:</strong> Full-time students studying at medical university are an important human resource that can effectively assist in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and future medical emergencies.</em></p> <p><em><strong>Methods:</strong> A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted to document the perceptions of full-time students at six Universities of Medicine and Pharmacy in Vietnam towards COVID-19 prevention and control. </em></p> <p><em><strong>Results:</strong> Female was 71.85%, Kinh ethnic group was 83.49%, and 72.30% in the background study. The proportion of participants referred that they could be involved in taking care of COVID-19 patients was 50.27%, knowing how to use personal protective equipment was 49.65%, detecting severe signs in COVID-19 patients was 66.89%, instructing patients on COVID-19 treatment measures was 41.97%, diagnosing people infected with COVID was 24.13%. There were 94.18% willing to participate in COVID-19 prevention and control. Some factors affecting students' willingness were gender, school year, vaccination, training on epidemic prevention, parental agreements, and friends/relatives infected with COVID-19. Factors that affected students' perception of their role in COVID-19 prevention were university location, number of years in universities, parental agreements, self-efficacy, transition to remote learning, altruism, and psychological stress. </em></p> <p><em><strong>Conclusion:</strong> Full-time students studying at medical universities are highly willing to participate the COVID-19 prevention and control. But they perceived their abilities as limited. Thorough training is important for the recruitment of emergency responses in the future. Solutions to address the possible interruptions of the training program to participation are needed.</em></p>Hội Y tế Công cộng Việt Nam

<p><em><strong>Objective</strong>: Knowledge, attitude, and practice of hand-washing with soap among students at 4 primary schools</em><em> in Hanoi in 2022. </em></p> <p><em><strong>Research subjects and methods</strong>: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted at Khuong </em><em>Thuong Primary School, Tam Khuong Primary School, Ha Hoi Primary School, and Khanh Ha </em><em>Primary School, choosing 50 fourth graders and 50 fifth graders.</em></p> <p><em><strong>Results</strong>: The majority of students 94.0% said that they enjoy washing their hands. The main rea</em><em>son for this attitude aside from taking up time is that it saves time. 54.2% of students said they </em><em>often wash their hands with soap at school before eating, and 87.0% said they do so right after </em><em>using the restroom. 89.5% of students indicated that using soap to wash their hands was required; </em><em>nevertheless, 14.5% of the 400 respondents reported they did not use soap to wash their hands at </em><em>school every day. </em></p> <p><em><strong>Conclusion</strong>: The number of students who know how to wash their hands is high. Students said that </em><em>hand washing with soap is necessary, but there are still respondents who do not wash their hands </em><em>with soap every day at school. The students' frequent practice of handwashing is extremely high </em><em>after using the restroom, but comparatively low after playing with toys.</em></p> <p> </p>Hội Y tế Công cộng Việt Nam

<p><em><strong>Background</strong>: Stress has different meanings for each person. It is a part of our daily human experience, but it is associated with several different problems and outcomes, during the COVID-19 pandemic which changed many aspects of our lives, including education. It is important to explore the lecturers' stress which contributes to their effective teaching.</em></p> <p><em><strong>Methods:</strong> This study used an online questionnaire from April to May 2022. The convenience sample included 247 lecturers in universities in Vietnam, aged 23 to 50+ years. Demographic and stress-related information was measured using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS- 10) questionnaire. Chi-square tests were used to analyze the association between these factors and the stress level.</em></p> <p><em><strong>Results:</strong> Most of the respondents were female (77.7%), the majority were aged from 31 to 40 years (45.7%), and most worked long hours. The survey found that 83.4% of participants had moderate levels of stress, and 8.1% and 8.5% with low and high levels of stress respectively. Findings demonstrated consistent associations among education level (p=0.025), working hours per week (p=0.00), teaching methods (p=0.036), and level of stress.</em></p> <p><em><strong>Conclusions:</strong> The prevalence of lecturers with moderate stress levels was substantial. The changes in education had been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which impacted teaching routines and the stress of lecturers. Understanding the associated factors with stress could assist in reducing levels and improving the efficiency of education.</em></p>Hội Y tế Công cộng Việt Nam

<p><em><strong>Background</strong>: Psychological violence is a serious health issue, especially for medical students in clinical practice. This study aimed to describe the prevalence and causes of psychological violence against medical students at Hanoi Medical University. </em></p> <p><em><strong>Method</strong>: This was a cross-sectional descriptive study, qualitative and quantitative combined.</em></p> <p><em><strong>Results</strong>: Over one-third of surveyed students (113, 35.31%) witnessed and/or experienced psychological violence, and nearly one-fifth experienced at least one violent incident (61,19.06%). Medical staff were the most common perpetrators. Up to nearly ninety percent of students who witnessed and/or experienced didn’t report the incidents for a variety of reasons. The main reasons for psychological violence incidents related to students, medical staff, patients, and patients' relatives.</em></p> <p><em><strong>Conclusion:</strong> In this study, the prevalence of witnessing and/or experiencing psychological violence against medical students during clinical practice was quite high.
