Factors affecting students’ use of open educational resources: A descriptive review from the ScienceDirect database.
Abstract
This study provides an overview of the factors influencing students' use of open educational resources (OER). It highlights the significant role of technological advancements in transforming educational practices and the increase in OER adoption in higher education institutions. Factors impacting OER usage include students' perceptions, ease of use, resource quality, instructor influence, institutional influence, cost factors, impact on learning outcomes, and personal attitudes. The paper also synthesizes various theoretical models used to analyze these factors such as UTAUT, TAM, TPB, and others. The findings emphasize the need for more in-depth empirical research, especially in universities in Vietnam, to better understand the impact of OER on student learning and the role of libraries in promoting OER adoption.
