Some results of the Investigation for preparation of natural rubber-clay nanocomposite.

Abstract

Natural rubber (NR)/montmorillonite nanocomposites were prepared by mixing in a two-rollmill. The effect of nanoclay on mechanical, thermal properties and microstructure of the nanocomposite was characterized by tensile testing, thermogravimetric analysis and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results shown that the nanocomposite exhibited a higher tensile strength, lower elongation at break and increasing onset temperatures. The nanoclay was intercalated according to X-ray diffraction result.
