Some factors related to the knowledge, attitude and practice of caring for children under 5 years old with acute respiratory infections of mothers at Children's Hospital in Lam Dong province in 2019
Abstract
A cross-sectional descriptive study, with analysis on the relationship between demographic characteristics of mothers and knowledge, attitudes, and practices of caring for children under 5 years old with acute respiratory infections, data were collected from 385 mothers in Lam Dong Children's Hospital 2019. The results show that: Knowledge, attitudes, and practices of mothers were related to the mother's demographic characteristics including ethnicity, place of residence, occupation, education level, and the number of children. The research results identified factors affecting the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of mothers about caring for children with ARI. Thereby providing necessary and appropriate information for mothers to recognize the signs of illness, timely taking children to medical facilities and choosing appropriate care methods, having the right knowledge of disease prevention for children in order to reduce unnecessary hospitalization and reduce treatment costs.
