Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the mediating role of quality of working life (QWL) in the relationship between psychological capacity (PsyCap) and quality of
life (QOL). The study uses a combined method in which focus group aims to adjust the scale and test the structural model (SEM) to evaluate the hypotheses in
the model. Data for the study is a convenience sample with 346 elements collected from medical staff of three hospitals: Ear-Nose-Throat Hospital HCMC, Hospital
For Tropical Disease and Nguyen Trai Hospital. The results show that all hypotheses in the model are statistically significant, specifically QWL is a partial mediator
in the relationship between psychological capital (PsyCap) and quality of life (QOL). Finally, based on the results of the study, implications are given for medical
organizations in Vietnam. Specifically, the personnel department needs to establish an appropriate human resource management system that helps enhance
QWL through developing their psychological capital in order to improve the quality of life of workers.
