A TRITERPENOID AND TWO STEROIDS ISOLATED FROM THE STEM BARK OF Calophyllum polyanthum

A triterpenoid, friedelin (1) and two steroids, β-sitosterol (2), stigmasterol (3) were isolated from dichloromethane extract of Calophyllum polyanthum stem bark. The chemical structures of the isolated compounds were determined by analysis of their NMR spectral data and comparison with those reported in the literature. As far as our knowledge, this is the first report about chemical constituents of Calophyllum polyanthum growing in Vietnam.
