IMPROVING THEPERFORMANCE OF MULTI-HOP ALL-OPTICAL PACKET - SWITCHING USING A MODIFIED PULSE POSITION MODULATION HEADER PROCESSING METHOD
Abstract
In this paper we present the modeling and simulation to estimate the performance of Multi-hop All-Optical Packet Switching using Modified Pulse Position Modulation (MPPM) Header Processor. The numerical and simulated results show that the processing time of the nodes in the network is significantly reduced and that the network performance in terms of the optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) is improved compared to that of the network using conventional pulse position modulation (PPM) method
