Studying the relationship between temperature and surface roughness in grinding

Abstract

This paper introduces a study on relationship between temperature
and surface roughness in grinding. Based on other research on
grinding process, the relationship between grinding temperature of
workpiece and parameters of grinding system (cutting parameters,
workpiece parameter etc...) was established. Thus, we formed the
relationship between grinding temperature and surface roughness.
This relationship is used to calculate grinding temperature of
workpiece according to predetermined surface roughness. The results
of calculated temperature are in agreement with experiment data.
Therefore, the results of this study can be referred for calculating of
the grinding temperature in practical cases. On the other hand, further
research direction is presented.
