BUILDING ONLINE COURSES BASED ON THE INTEGRATION OF TECHNOLOGIES USING XBLOCK ON EDX PLATFORM

Abstract

Digital transformation in University is currently taking place very strongly
in the world and Vietnam. One of the important issues in that is the system of
online learning materials and online teaching via the Internet. The Open edX
platform is an open source MOOC that is now commonly used in universities
around the world. Open edX supports new and modern technologies such as
AI, cloud computing, VR/AR technology, virtual laboratories… In Open eDX
there is an important component that is XBlock. XBlock brings flexibility, ease
of use to courses, and allows users to create effective, customized online
courses of their own. In this article, we conduct research on XBlock, the
process of creating XBlock and the integrating different technologies and
features into an online course through XBlock. Experimental research results
have proven that it is possible to build online courses with the integration of
different technologies using XBlock and it is possible to implement the
application in practice.
