Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between the three dimensions of
social capital and the three aspects of supply chain colaboration (information
sharing, joint decision making and benefit/ risk sharing). Through a survey of 249
companies in Vietnam, this study shows that the effects of social capital aspects
on the three aspects of supply chain collaboration are different. The results of
this study not only provide an overview of the relationship between social capital
and supply chain colaboration, but also provide empirical evidence to support
the argument of previous studies on the impact of social capital on knowledge
sharing, benefit/ risk sharing and joint activities between supply chain members.
Besides, based on the results of the study, the author also proposed a few
suggestions for the managers to build and maintain long-term relationships in
the supply chain.
