Abstract

This paper introduces some experimental research results on butt welding of C45
steel plate with large thickness with narrow gap and small chamfer angle on
PLEXTEC® 500x industrial production equipment of LINCOLN in Viet Nam. The quality
of the weld is assessed by metallographic method through the criteria of
microorganism characteristics, which was investigated in some characteristic
structural sub-regions on the weld cross-section such as: weld center, weld border,
heat-affected and base metal zone. The metallographic properties of the investigated
weld material allow to give conclusions about the ability to work according to the
requirements of the welded structure.
