CURRENT SITUATION AND SOLUTIONS FOR DEVELOPING HUMAN RESOURCE IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY OF DA NANG CITY UNDER THE IMPACT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Abstract
The human resource in tourism is considered one of the important factors that determine the development of Da Nang city's tourism industry. However, the current situation of human resource in Da Nang's tourism industry has recently undergone many changes and fluctuations, especially under the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. Before the COVID-19 epidemic appeared, the growth of the tourism industry over the years has promoted Da Nang's tourism human resource to continuously develop in both quantity and quality. When the COVID-19 epidemic appeared, the economy suffered, the tourism industry shrunk in size, resulting in tens of thousands of people losing their jobs, and Da Nang's tourism human resource after experiencing the epidemic was reduced heavily. Therefore, recovering human resource after the epidemic is essential for the development of Da Nang's tourism industry. However, under the profound impact of the COVID-19 epidemic for a long time, after the epidemic, entering a new normal period, Da Nang tourism human resource have a slow recovery, especially in quality. Therefore, to promote Da Nang's tourism human resource to develop comprehensively in both quantity and quality in the future, solutions are needed from the Da Nang city government as well as from businesses in the tourism industry.
